Engagement session at the getty center

These photos were taken at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, CA. We love photographing e-sessions there because of the overall look the location offers. The architecture here is incredible and the photos capture an elegant and modern feel. For clients who appreciate art, design and clean lines, this place should be considered.

The architecture on the museum grounds has cool geometric shapes and because the stone is light in color, sunlight is reflected in all directions. This makes it very bright and also creates nice shadows.

The Getty Gardens are also, modern in design. There are large open areas of color and texture. Each garden has a slightly different look, and we can spend hours photographing in the gardens alone. The museum is usually busy and it ca be difficult to get a shot with only our clients in the frame. As a result, the photograph above (on the lawn) uses some photoshop to eliminate other museum visitors who crossed in front of our camera.

We found another photo opportunity on the tram ride going towards the Getty Center. Often there are crowds of people riding the tram, which can limit the amount of photos that we take. For the shot above, we positioned ourselves in one corner of the tram and shot through the crowds, by using a telephoto lens. Our cameras are adjusted to the correct settings before shooting so that we can capture the photos we want in just a few shots.

Here are two images that were enhanced to achieve a soft and warm feeling. We generally let our clients have their moments, interacting with each other while we are at a distance photographing them. But we also provide creative direction, depending on the aesthetic the client is after.
