Wedding ceremony &
reception at the castle green

group photo of groomsmen in moorish room

These photos were taken at the Castle Green in Pasadena CA. Pictured above is a group photo of all the groomsmen in the moorish room at the Castle Green. This venue has nice details in its architecture and provides great color and style. I used the sunroom and the moorish room at castle green to take portraits of the groomsmen due to the abundant available light and rich color found in here. As you can see, portraits taken in the building's lavish Victorian, Moorish or Turkish interiors look incredible.

The Castle Green was built in 1898 by Col. George G. Green. The seven story moorish colonial and spanish style architecture provides a beautiful setting for wedding photographs. Today the castle green is considered one of pasadenas most unique building. A unique landmark in southern califonia which catters to weddings as well as the film industry. The venue has beautiful lush private gardens and moorish, turkish and victorian salons.

The photo above is the ballroom at the Castle Green. During the day there is plenty of natural light which fills the room and gives it a beautiful glowing look. I also liked the gold chiavari chairs the venue provided. The photo of the groom getting a flower on his lapel was taken in the moorish room while the wedding cake was taken from the private gardens looking into the ballroom.

details from the banquet table at the castle green

Here is a view of the details found in the round banquet tables inside the ballroom. The theme for this wedding had to do with travel and every table represented a different destination.

The photo above is a view of the main salon at the Castle Green, taken from the second floor. The main salon can get a bit dark to photograph using only available light, so I used the flash to fill in some light.

The dance floor at the Castle Green is spacious and I had no problem finding different places to take photos from. The architectural elements in the ballroom look great even in when the lights are turned low as the party gets started.
